Are you a Specialist in General Surgery with experience and a particular interest in breast and melanoma surgery? Are you looking for an opportunity to develop further within specialised cancer surgery while working in a multidisciplinary and academically active environment?
We are currently recruiting a Specialist in General Surgery with experience and a strong professional interest in breast and melanoma surgery for a permanent position at a major university hospital in southwestern Sweden.
The position offers the opportunity to combine specialised clinical work with multidisciplinary cancer care, professional development, teaching and research in a highly specialised hospital environment.
About the position
Your primary focus will be the care and surgical treatment of patients with breast cancer and malignant melanoma.
The role includes both outpatient care and day surgery, and you will be involved in the assessment, treatment and follow-up of patients.
The work is characterised by close multidisciplinary and multiprofessional collaboration, where surgeons work together with other specialists and healthcare professionals throughout the patient's treatment pathway.
Most of the work is carried out during daytime hours. Depending on your individual competence and previous experience, participation in general surgical on-call duties may also be included.
Breast and melanoma surgery
The position is particularly suited to a general surgeon who already has clinical experience within breast surgery, melanoma surgery or related oncological surgery and wishes to continue developing within this field.
You will work with patients with breast cancer and malignant melanoma in a specialised surgical environment that combines clinical care with continuous development.
The broader surgical organisation also includes areas such as upper gastrointestinal surgery, endocrine and sarcoma surgery, as well as acute and trauma surgery.
A university hospital environment
The hospital offers an environment where specialised healthcare, education, clinical development and research are closely connected.
The breast and melanoma surgery field is research-intensive, and teaching and continuous development are natural parts of the position.
For a surgeon who wants to combine clinical expertise with continued academic and professional development, this provides an opportunity to build a long-term career within a large Swedish university hospital.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a Specialist in General Surgery who has a particular interest and relevant experience in breast and melanoma surgery.
You enjoy working in a multidisciplinary setting and are comfortable taking responsibility while contributing to the continued development of the department.
You value close collaboration with colleagues from different professions and specialties and have a patient-centred approach to your work.
