We’re now looking for a Tech Lead who wants to play a key role in shaping the technical direction of our regulated payment platform. As a Tech Lead in ZTL, you’ll work closely with the CTO, Product, DevOps, and the engineering team to balance delivery speed, quality, scalability, and regulatory requirements. 🌟 What You’ll DoShape Technical Direction Contribute to and refine ZTL’s technical strategy together with the CTO Set direction for architecture, scalability, and long-term system health Translate product goals and regulatory requirements into pragmatic technical solutions Lead by Doing Work hands-on in the code while guiding architectural decisions Lead design discussions and code reviews Identify and manage technical debt over time Ensure high standards for code quality, security, and reliability Strengthen Engineering Culture Support and mentor engineers Improve engineering processes and collaboration Work closely with Product and DevOps to ensure smooth, predictable delivery Contribute to hiring and team growth when needed 👩‍💻 Who We Think You AreYou have solid experience building modern backend or full-stack systems, ideally in cloud environments You’ve contributed to system design and architectural decisions in a product-driven environment You understand the balance between engineering excellence and pragmatic delivery You care about security, scalability, and reliability, especially in regulated environments You enjoy writing code, but are equally motivated by helping others succeed. You communicate effectively in Norwegian and English Experience in fintech, payments, APIs, or regulated systems is a strong advantage, but curiosity and the ability to learn fast matter more than ticking every box. 🛠️ Our Tech StackWe run our applications in the cloud (Microsoft Azure), using containerized services, Kubernetes, and Infrastructure as Code. Our current stack includes: Kotlin, Ktor, Spring Boot, PostgreSQL, Next.js, React, Typescript Docker, Kubernetes, Helmfile, Bitbucket Pipelines Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus, Slack, Miro, Jira, Confluence You don’t need hands-on experience with every tool in our stack.
