Video: https://youtu.be/i4SDcLir6OcPostdoctoral Research Fellow positionThere is a vacancy for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow position in the project Responsible AI in interaction design practice (RAID) hosted by the Research group for Human-computer interaction.  The position is for a period of 3 years and is subject to external financing, the position can include an extra year for teaching and other duties for the department. About the project/work tasks:The project addresses how artificial intelligence can be responsibly used in interaction design and conducts empirical studies, participatory design, and research through design. It further addresses both professional and educational practice in interaction design. There is also a work package that focuses on Generative User Interfaces (GenUI).  The Postdoctoral Research Fellow is expected to do empirical studies and participatory design with both interaction design students and professionals, and will be expected to run field trials of GenUI applications developed in the project. This involves close collaboration with external participants and stakeholders.  The Postdoctoral Research Fellow must collaborate with the partners in the project and is expected to spend some time at one of the other partner universities.  The Postdoctoral Research Fellow will also help organize, disseminate and document research activities in the project. Qualifications and personal qualities:The applicant must hold a Norwegian PhD or an equivalent degree within information science or related field with a focus on Human-computer interaction. The applicant must have submitted their doctoral thesis for assessment prior to the application deadline. It is a condition of employment that the PhD has been awarded. Experience from participatory design, design and evaluation of intelligent user interfaces, such as Conversational User interfaces, and human-AI interaction. Experience with field trials, organizing workshops and participatory design activities with users and qualitative studies (interviews, analysis of interactions). Work independently and in a structured manner, as well as have the ability to cooperate with others. Proficiency in both written and oral English. A good command of the Norwegian language will be an advantage, as the position requires collaboration with stakeholders in Norway. The place of work for this position is Bergen, and the work requires that you are physically present at the Department of Information Science and Media Studies on a daily basis. Applicants are advised to familiarize themselves with the teaching and research profile at the Department, please see https://www.uib.no/infomedia.  About the position of Postdoctoral Research Fellow:The position of Postdoctoral Research Fellow is a fixed-term appointment with the primary objective of qualifying the appointee for work in top academic positions. The fixed-term period for this position is 3 years. Individuals may not be hired for more than one fixed-term period as a postdoctoral research fellow at the same institution. A research proposal of 4-5 pages (excluding reference list) must accompany the application. The proposal should contain a progress plan for the different parts of the research work, as well as a plan regarding publishing.  It is a requirement that the project is completed in the course of the period of employment. A budget must be set up for operating expenses.   We can offer:A good and professionally challenging working environment.  Gross annual salary as Postdoctoral Research Fellow, code 1352, of NOK 685 900, -. Further increase in salary will depend on seniority. A higher salary may be considered for a particularly well qualified applicant.
