Western Bulk is a global dry bulk shipping operator. We match cargo with vessels on behalf of customers worldwide, working with a commercially controlled fleet of 100–150 vessels. We are around 90 people across Oslo, Singapore, Dubai and other locations. We are looking for an IT Manager to take over responsibility for our IT operations as our current IT Manager retires in 2027.  This is a broad and varied role where you will be the driving force behind our day-to-day IT setup. You will own the IT platform that a senior, globally distributed commercial organization depends on, and you will see the effect of your work directly. There is no layer between you and the people you support, but you will be a part of a supportive and highly capable technology team of 4 people.    What will you do Device Management (Apple & Microsoft): Full ownership of the lifecycle of our device fleet – with a primary focus on Mac, iPhone, and Apple Business Manager in combination with Microsoft Intune. Security operations — monitoring and responding to alerts from our endpoint and identity security tooling and keeping our security baseline current. Users and access — onboarding and offboarding, credentials, access rights and telephony, working in Microsoft 365 and Entra ID. Manage Company Networks — Managing firewalls and network infrastructure across our offices on a cloud-managed platform (Cisco Meraki), as well as setup and operation of Microsoft-based meeting room technology Purchasing and inventory — sourcing and tracking hardware, accessories, software and licenses, and managing the supplier relationships behind them.   We are ideally looking for: Experience in IT operations, service management, infrastructure, or equivalent Practical, hands-on experience running Microsoft 365 and Entra ID Working knowledge of networks and firewalls Experience with endpoint security tooling and handling security alerts Device management experience across mobile and laptop estates, preferably with Apple Business Manager and Microsoft Intune Professional fluency in English (spoken and written). Norwegian language skills are a plus, but not required, as we operate in a global environment   Who are you? We are looking for a structured, curious, and solution-oriented individual who thrives in a visible, hands-on role. You like having a good overview while enjoy tackling daily tasks and solving concrete challenges, always motivated by finding better ways of doing things. Clear communication across teams comes naturally to you, whether speaking with technologists or colleagues without an IT background. Personal suitability, a strong drive to make things happen, and a service-minded attitude matter most to us.   What we offer An international and dynamic culture within a flat, global organization with an informal working environment and colleagues across major shipping hubs worldwide. Short decision-making paths with direct access to management and room to take immediate action on your ideas without bureaucratic hurdles. Autonomy and professional growth, with a high degree of freedom to shape IT policies, introduce best practices, and expand your skills in cloud identity and security. An engaging workplace with a supportive team culture, social events, team activities, and a friendly, collaborative day-to-day atmosphere. Attractive salary, solid pension and insurance schemes, and central office locations in Oslo.
